What does hemp oil taste like?

Hemp oil has a mild, nutty flavor with a slightly earthy undertone. The taste is quite pleasant and is similar to that of sunflower or walnut oil.

What is the shelf life of hemp oil after opening?

Opened hemp oil should be consumed within about 6-12 weeks to ensure optimal quality and freshness. To properly store your opened bottle of hemp oil and maximize its shelf life, follow these tips:

Store the oil in a cool, dry and dark place: light, heat and moisture can reduce the shelf life and affect the quality.
Close the bottle tightly to prevent oxidation: Oxygen can cause hemp oil to go rancid more quickly. It is important to always keep the bottle tightly closed.
Do I store opened hemp oil in the fridge?

Storing hemp oil in the fridge can help it stay fresh for longer as it is protected from light, heat and air. The cool temperature in the fridge slows down the oxidation of the oil, which can make it last longer. However, it is important to note that hemp oil can become thicker and take on a cloudy color in the refrigerator. This is a normal effect of the lower temperature and does not affect the quality or safety of the oil.

If you take the hemp oil out of the fridge and leave it at room temperature, it will become clear and liquid again after a short time. So if you prefer to use the oil at room temperature, you can take it out of the fridge some time before use.

How do I store the hemp oil?

Store sealed hemp oil in a cool, dry place away from light in a cupboard or storeroom. Keep it tightly closed to prevent oxidation.

Remember to shake the oil well before use and observe the expiration dates on the packaging. Shaking can lead to spills.

Good to know

Note, however, that hemp oil can lose its flavor and valuable nutrients if heated too much, so it should be used at room temperature or only slightly warmed.
